Poppet Seals for Check Valves |

Poppet seals, custom molded from various high performance elastomeric compounds, are manufactured by
Pelmor® Laboratories, Inc. for use in check valves for pressure relief and nuclear plant piping system applications.
Excellent rubber-to-metal bonding, advanced machining capabilities for trimming molded parts, and pre-forming
to 0.5 grams per piece to maximize manufacturing efficiencies, are among the highly specialized capabilities that
Pelmor® brings to the production of these poppet seals.
Various state-of-the-art elastomers, such as Viton®, Aflas®, Nitrile, and EPDM, are bonded to stainless
steel components to form a strong sealing surface. These poppets can withstand temperature extremes of -50°
to +450° F; resist attack by over 750 corrosive chemicals and other liquids; and exhibit excellent abrasion
resistance. Other properties include: tensile strength ranges of 2000 to 3250 psi; Shore A durometer of 50 to 90;
and 100% to 685% elongation.
